Essential Items You Absolutely Need in Your Louisiana Hurricane Kit

The first day of Hurricane Season is two weeks away, so that means t's time to get your hurricane preparedness kit stocked up and ready to be used if you need it.

The American Red Cross has published a guide of key items you should have in your hurricane kit. I recommend getting plastic totes to store the items in so they can be stored easily and moved to a vehicle if you need to evacuate.

Hurricane season begins June 1st, however, that doesn't mean a storm can't form in the Atlantic or Gulf from now until the official first day of the season.  It's best to be prepared.
