Dollar Tree To Raise Prices Again At All Louisiana Stores
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - If you thought price increases were a thing of the past for Dollar Tree locations in Louisiana, you would be sadly mistaken. We have all the details.
Dollar Tree stores have been open for 37 years and for 33 of those years everything in the store was only $1. That changed after the pandemic, when the chain raised it's prices to $1.25 per item.

In 2023 the Dollar Tree introduced "Plus Items" to their stores. These are items that are deemed to be higher quality than other items in the store. The original price for the Plus Items was $3. That rose to $5 in 2024, and the company now has plans to raise the price to $7 here in 2025.

But that's not all. The Dollar Tree is raising the prices of certain items in the store to $1.50 and $1.75.
The company sights rising costs of product production and labor as the reason for the increases.
I love shopping at the Dollar Tree for office and cleaning supplies. However, most of their products come from either China or Canada, and if you've been paying attention to the news those companies have large tariffs on them right now.
I imagine that the Dollar Tree front loaded their warehouses with products before the tariffs took place, but that stock will eventually run out and they will need to order some more. I find it hard to believe that their current pricing structure can last very much longer if these countries don't strike a fair-trade deal with the USA like the United Kingdom just did.
