If you’ve spent any time on social media recently, you’ve probably seen the videos, but one clip featuring an undercover operation has hit dangerously close to home: it shows a sting attempting to catch child predators right here in Shreveport.

Unfortunately, law enforcement officials and anti-trafficking organizations confirm a terrifying local reality: Shreveport is considered a hub for sex trafficking. The Shreveport Police Department teamed up with SOSA to take on child predators in Shreveport.

Why here? It’s largely because of our location at the intersection of major interstates, I-20 and I-49. FBI officials state that these easy transportation routes allow traffickers to move victims through and to the area.

Traffickers often "set up shop" in hotels and motels located along these interstate exits, making these corridors focal points for operations and victim rescue efforts. Human trafficking, especially of children, is a significant, ongoing issue in the Shreveport area.

The Decoy Operation That Caught a Local Man

SOSA recently launched a new undercover operation right here in Shreveport, using decoys to communicate with predators. During the sting, one man arranged a meeting with the decoy, and when confronted, he tried to claim a strange excuse for his actions. Authorities emphasize that these local operations are crucial for disrupting larger trafficking networks and preventing victims from being moved to major cities.
