Shreveport/Bossier Tells Us The Best Advice Dads Ever Gave Them
Okay Shreveport/Bossier, Father's Day is this Sunday, June 15, so you've still got a little time to get your gift shopping done.
Course you could wait until Saturday night and buy him whatever is on sale at the truck stop, which is what appears to happen for many guys each year.
It's because us Dads just don't get the respect that Moms get and I don't understand that. I read many years ago that the single biggest day of each year for long distance calls was Mother's Day. Father's Day was like number eight or something. Right behind Halloween.
Moms are incredible and so deserving of our love and admiration, but isn't Dad just as worthy of some recognition on his special day?
Well, of course he is. Dad is the one who instilled you with that sense of courage. You knew that if you could hold the flashlight for him while he worked on the car, you could handle anything.
In an effort to show him respect for his special day, we asked you to give us the best advice Dad ever gave you and you certainly delivered with some incredible nuggets.

- Clint - A man takes his wife and kids to church
- Kelly - If the ducks are coming, don’t call.
- Haylee - If you aren’t 5 minutes early you’re 10 minutes late
- Amber - It doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing you just make sure your butt is covered.
- Robin - Your word is priceless! Keep it always!
- Mark - If you don't use your head, you might as well have two butts.
- Charlie - Go with your gut feeling, if it seems too good to be true,,, it probably is.
- Tammy - Don’t ever go to jail because I didn’t get you there and I’m not getting you out
- Jessica - Trust Jesus. You have the rest of your life to work. Money doesn’t grow on trees.
- Katie - Give your life to the Lord and trust Jesus!!
- Mark - It takes a dang good woman to be better than no woman at all!!!
- Kevin - Always be thankful for what you have but don't ever settle.
- Tim - You can’t help someone who doesn’t help themselves
- Carolyn - My dad told me not to trust a man that didn't like dogs or cheese!!!!
