As they've done for a number of years, the Bossier Sheriff's Department will once again open the department's rifle range to the public on several days next month so that hunters can sight in their deer rifles.

The range will be open on these dates and times:

  • September 14 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • September 21 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • September 28 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

The range features 12 shooting lanes with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards.

Basic targets will be available at the range, but shooters will need to bring their own weapons and ammunition, since none will be available at the range.  You will also need to bring your own hearing and eye protection.

"I am pleased to offer this service to our residents so they can sight in their rifles at our range in a safe environment, especially as we approach hunting season," said Sheriff Whittington.
