First Look Inside Westlake, Louisiana’s Lazy Gator Waterpark Opening Soon

(Westlake, Louisiana) Summer is here, and adults and kids alike will be looking to cool off because let's face it, Louisiana is hot this time of year. If you don't have a pool or know someone who does, you are left to try and find a water park that can help you and the kids cool off while enjoying some Summer fun.

Lazy Gator Water Park to Open in Westlake

UPDATE Thursday, June 26, 2025-In Westlake, Louisiana, there is a brand new waterpark, and we have now found out when it will open. The new water park will open this Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The park has been under construction for the past few years, and it looks like it is set to open its doors this Friday. For you folks in Southwest Louisiana, get ready for a new destination to cool off without having to travel out of town to do so.

The new waterpark is called Lazy Gator Water Park, and it is located at 2901 Westwood Drive in Westlake, Louisiana. We had the opportunity to take a tour of the new water park and snapped some pictures so that we can give you a first-hand look inside the new facility.

The new water park features food and beverages. It will be run by a familiar restaurant you know in Lake Charles. The food bar will be run by the folks at Cooler's Ice House and be called the Gator Grill.

There is also seating by the water, a massive pavilion, four large waterslides, volleyball nets, basketball goals, swimming pools, a 1000-foot lazy river, and a 7 1/2 foot swimming lanes pool. They also have water tubes, a pickleball area, and a splash pad.

Admission Information for Lazy Gator Water Park in Westlake, LA

You don't have to be a resident of Westlake, Louisiana, to attend the park. General Admission tickets are available along with discounts for seniors, active military, and Westlake, Louisiana, residents. Prices are as follows:

• General Admission Tickets: $15
• Seniors 65 and up and Veterans/Active Military $10
• Westlake Residents with a current Rec card are $5

When it opens this Friday, June 27, 2025, the new Lazy Gator Waterpark will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sundays.
