USPS Starts Mailing Service Changes That Affect Residents of Louisiana.
The USPS website states that price hikes on a number of goods and services will shortly take effect in Louisiana and throughout the United States:

Our business and operating models are unsustainable and out of step with the changing needs of the nation and our customers. Years of chronic underinvestment in our infrastructure and network have taken its toll on our performance and workforce. As we implement rate changes, USPS remains committed to making sure mailing and shipping rates remain among the most affordable in the world.

The service's ten-year Delivering for America strategy includes the price increases. With its "new pricing policy expected to generate $44 billion in additional revenue" by 2031, USPS has been hiking stamp costs twice a year since 2021. First-class Forever stamps will now cost 73 cents instead of 68 cents starting on July 14. There will be pricing changes for other USPS goods and services in addition to stamps.

The nation's and our customers' shifting requirements are not being met by our business and operating paradigms, which are unsustainable. Our staff and performance have suffered as a result of years of persistent underinvestment in our network and infrastructure. USPS is dedicated to maintaining some of the lowest postal and shipping costs in the world even as we apply rate adjustments.
