Tickets Available, Selling Fast, for McNeese’s Home Opener vs Southern

McNeese State University's home opener is just around the corner, and tickets are selling out quickly! The Cowboys will face off against Southern University this Saturday, and you won't want to miss it. The game will be packed with excitement, including a special halftime performance by Southern’s famous band, the Human Jukebox.

Southern University's Human Jukebox is one of the most famous college marching bands in the country. Known for their incredible musical talent, high-energy performances, and precision marching, the Human Jukebox has a legendary reputation. They play a mix of popular hits, traditional band music, and crowd favorites, often adding their own unique flair to each piece.

The band's halftime shows are always a highlight, drawing in crowds with their electrifying routines and powerful sound. Their performances are more than just music—they're a full-blown spectacle that showcases the rich culture and spirit of Southern University.

Last week, McNeese had a tough game against No. 21 Tarleton State. Although they fell short with a 26-23 loss, the Cowboys showed tremendous fight. After trailing 26-7 at halftime, McNeese scored 16 unanswered points in the second half. They had a chance to tie the game in the final moments, but a 44-yard field goal attempt by Tyler Larco missed by just a hair.

McNeese outgained Tarleton State in total offense, racking up 445 yards compared to Tarleton’s 339. The Cowboys’ defense was especially strong in the second half, holding Tarleton to just 84 yards, with only 11 of those coming in the third quarter.

Quarterback Clifton McDowell was a standout, accounting for 312 offensive yards, including 245 passing and a team-high 67 rushing. He connected with Jamaal Levi for the first touchdown of the season, a 43-yard pass that put McNeese ahead 7-3 in the first quarter. Late in the game, McDowell threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Matthew McCallister, bringing the score to 26-23.
