As we enter the month of June, more bad news is coming down in the world of business as another retail giant is set to close over 300 stores as it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

We have reported in the past few months that major restaurant and retail giants have started liquidating stores, filing for bankruptcy, and closing down locations all across the United States. We have seen iconic brands like Hooters, Party City, Big Lots, Forever 21, Red Lobster, and other well-known names closing their doors forever.

Now we have learned that one of the biggest pharmacy retailers is set to close 300 stores all across the country. Rite Aid, which has always been in direct competition with Walgreens and CVS, announced that it will be closing 300 stores after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2025.

Rite Aid has also started liquidating by selling its pharmacy services to its rivals Walgreens, Albertsons, Kroger, and CVS. So, when will you see stores start to close, and will some in Texas or Louisiana be closing?

According to Newsweek,

Store closures are being implemented in waves, with some locations closing immediately and others expected to cease operations over the next several months.
