Movies Under the Stars Is Back For Another Run In Lake Charles

One of the most popular events in Southwest Louisiana is back for another Fall season. The family-friendly Movies Under The Stars four-week movie event is back in October and is started last Friday night, October 6th, 2024.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury puts on the four-week series and each week, Movies Under The Stars takes place at different locations around Calcasieu Parish. The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury just released the schedule and locations for each event.

Every Movie Under The Stars will occur every Friday in October 2024. Here is the entire monthly schedule.

• Friday, Oct. 11 – Shrek Forever After This movie will be shown at Mallard Junction Park, 599 August St., Lake Charles.

• Friday, Oct. 18 – IF his movie will be shown at Bulber Auditorium, 4205 McNeese St., Lake Charles.

• Friday, Oct. 25 – The Princess and the Frog This movie will be shown at River Bluff Park, 543 Theriot Road, Moss Bluff.

Laura Heller with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury said,

Movies will start at 6:30 p.m. but be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at each event. Residents can also bring their own food.

If the weather is bad that day, the event is subject to be canceled. Grab your chairs and the family and enjoy a fun night with the family while enjoying a Movie Under The Stars.
