
Health Warning: Listeria Outbreak Found in Alfredo Sold in Texas & Louisiana
[KNGT-FM] - We all have shopping to do each week. We all make that trek to the store to fill up our carts with groceries to feed ourselves and our families. When shopping, most people are partial to certain foods and certain brands.

Are you one of those shoppers who look hard at expiration dates on food? It is always a good idea to make sure you're not buying food that has already past its shelf life. Sometimes it slips through the cracks or has sat on the shelf so long without selling that you may find expired items in the grocery store that you shop at.
One thing that is totally out of your control is when a company that produces food has outbreaks or contamination in certain products they produce. Such is the case in this instance.

According to Health.com,
A nationwide recall of chicken fettuccine alfredo sold at Kroger and Walmart is now underway after federal health agencies connected the ready-to-eat products to a deadly Listeria outbreak.
The three products that you should throw out immediately if you have purchased them are:
32.8-oz. tray packages containing “MARKETSIDE GRILLED CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH FETTUCCINE Tender Pasta with best-by date 06/27/25 or prior.
12.3 oz. tray packages containing “MARKETSIDE GRILLED CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH FETTUCCINE Tender Pasta with best-by date 06/26/25 or prior.
12.5 oz. tray packages containing “HOME CHEF Heat & Eat Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with pasta with best-by date 06/19/25 or prior.
These were sold in Texas and Louisiana Walmart or Kroger's stores. If you have these products at home, look for the expiration dates that are listed above, and that should confirm these products are contaminated. You need to throw this away immediately. So far, 17 people have become sick in 13 states, and unfortunately, 3 deaths have been linked to the delayed bacteria.
