We just finished the Christmas holiday and now it's on to the New Years' holiday.  Most folks will be off starting on Friday for a holiday and will be off through Monday and return back to work on Tuesday.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced that their offices will be closed for the holiday starting on Friday, December 30th, and on Monday, January 2nd, and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd.

For Calcasieu Parish residents, Laura Heller with the Police Jury Said,

There will be no change in the Waste Management pickup schedule. Call Waste Management at 337-436-7229 with any questions or visit wm.com/alerts for updates.

The Solid Waste Convenience Centers, located at 5500 B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles and at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur, will both be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. They will reopen on Monday, Jan. 2.

The City of Lake Charles will also be observing the upcoming holiday and their offices will also be closed. Unlike the Police Jury and Calcasieu parish residents, Lake Charles residents' trash pickup times will be changed for the holiday.

  • Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday, January 2, 2023, will be rescheduled for Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

 

  • Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, will be rescheduled for pick up on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

 

  • Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

Don't forget that your garbage cans need to be put out before 7:00 am on the day that your trash is scheduled to be picked up and you need to retrieve your cans by 7:00 pm the same day after your trash has been picked up.
