Iconic Lake Charles Eatery Reopens April 28 After A 5-Year Absence
It's finally here, folks. Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles residents can rejoice knowing that one of their favorite restaurants in the area is back and will reopen this Monday, April 28, 2025.
Five years ago, Ball's Fried Chicken, a lake area favorite, was severely damaged by Hurricanes Laura and Delta, causing significant damage to the restaurant. The owners worked tirelessly to rebuild the popular spot located on Enterprise Boulevard in Lake Charles.

It seemed like things were moving along smoothly until April 2024, when intense storms rolled through Southwest Louisiana, causing more damage to the restaurant that was already under repair. Check out these pictures from when the damage occurred.
After that, the rebuild was started over, and they have been working so hard to get the popular eatery back up and running for their loyal customers here in the lake area. Well, that day has now come as they announced a couple of weeks ago that Ball's Fried Chicken will be reopening, and that day is this Monday, April 28, 2025.
Owners Reggie and Angela Ball notified us to share the news with you that Ball's Fried Chicken will be back open at its original iconic location at 606 Enterprise Boulevard in Lake Charles. All of your favorite dishes will be back, and you will get your first taste of the terrific food this Monday when they reopen.
Angela Ball posted on Facebook today,
To enhance our service, Ball’s Fried Chick-n will temporarily offer a limited menu of chicken and sides. Call-in orders are not available at this time. The Marshal’s Office will provide traffic control, and there will be additional parking at Sacred Heart.Doors open at 10 am, Monday! See you there!
So this weekend, you can smile knowing that starting Monday, your favorite fried chicken joint is BACK and ready to serve you again. Be patient with them, however. Everyone has been waiting for them to open, so there will probably be a bunch of people going to get their favorite. I promise you, though, it's worth the wait.
