KPLC’s Pack the Tent Drive Set to Help Abraham’s Tent Feed the Hungry
Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - As the holiday season approaches, many of us look forward to gathering with loved ones, sharing warm meals, and celebrating the season of giving. But for some of our neighbors here in Southwest Louisiana, hunger isn’t just a seasonal concern; it’s a daily struggle.
We were glad to have our friends at KPLC in the studio this morning, talking about this event. We all know that times are tough right now, so we were so happy to talk about this event and shed light on the fact that people in Southwest Louisiana are in need, especially around the holidays.

KPLC is hosting its annual “Pack the Tent” Food and Supply Drive this Friday, November 14. The event will be at Abraham’s Tent, located at 2424 Fruge Street in Lake Charles. As you all know, Abraham’s Tent has long been a place of hope in our community, serving hot meals year-round to those in need.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., KPLC’s team of volunteers will be on-site collecting donations to help restock shelves and support local families. Items needed include non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, and warm clothing essentials that can make a real difference as temperatures drop and the holidays draw near.
Whether you drop off a few cans of food or a bag of supplies. Every contribution helps brighten the season for our neighbors who need it most. With your generosity, we can all make a difference this holiday season and make sure that no one in Lake Charles goes hungry this holiday season.
