[KNGT-FM] -- We are starting to get a better idea of what Invest 93-L is all about as forecasters are beginning to get a more accurate idea of the forecast. All week long, people living along the Gulf Coast of Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi have been watching an area of disturbed weather, waiting to see what it would do.

Lucky for us, Invest 93-L really never got its act together, staying over land mostly, not giving it a chance to develop into a major storm. Most forecasters are now calling Invest 93-L a rainmaker now with the most concerning thing being heavy rain and possible flooding.

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Flood Watch for all of Southwest Louisiana starting now and running through Saturday, July 19, 2025. From most of the forecasts, it looks like Friday will be the day with the most rain. Local and state weather experts are chiming in, giving you their forecast for certain areas of the state where they are located.

Meteorologist Zack Fradella out of New Orleans issued his latest update a few minutes ago, saying,

This first big batch of storms is sliding off the coast, and around 3-4” of rain fell around Thibodaux/Gray. There is a nice break we’re taking for now. Expect reformation of storms later today, and with the tropical low close by, there won’t be a ton of movement.

Here locally, KPLC TV Meteorologist Jacob Durham posted on his Facebook page to update Southwest Louisiana, saying,

Heavy rainfall continues to be our biggest concern as Invest 93-L works its way into Louisiana over the next 48 hours. Rain totals have trended down a touch, but still, a widespread 2-4 inches of rain with localized higher amounts are possible. We'll be watching closely for localized flooding as some of our heaviest rain arrives on Friday.

Just stay aware, and if you know areas in Southwest Louisiana that are prone to flooding, you will want to avoid those areas. We will be watching the weather and keeping you up to date on any and all changes and areas that may flood during this rain event.
