The Mardi Gras season is in full swing and everyone is starting to fill up their calendar with things to do this season. From parades to Mardi Gras Balls to chicken runs, Louisiana's favorite holiday is here.

Have you ever been to a traditional Mardi Gras chicken run and dance? Here is your chance to go out and experience crazy Cajuns do what they do best, have fun, and celebrate the Mardi Gras season.

In the city of Iowa, Louisiana, they have just announced that they will be doing their gumbo cookoff and dance on Saturday, February 18th, 2023. The day and night will feature a gumbo cookoff, and live music Cajun and Zydeco music.

The gumbo cookoff starts at Noon at the KC Hall under the pavilion and will consist of a four-man team and you will need to cook a chicken and sausage gumbo. You can enter the day of the event starting at 11:00 am.

The dance will take place at the KC Hall located at 503 Highway 90 in Iowa, Louisiana. from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners will be performing live. during that time.

Get ready to hear all of Leroy Thomas' hits like In Love Witcha Woman and Your Turn To Lose. He is known as the Jewel Of The Bayou. He is known for his high-powered shows that will keep you dancing all night long.

The chicken run will take place on Mardi Gras day in Iowa and Rusty Metoyer will be playing at the KC Hall.
