As a kid, nothing beats going to a waterpark on a sunny summer afternoon. From the anticipation of knowing you're going to wait to get on waterslides, it was always going to be one of the best days of summer! When I grew up in DeRidder, we would always listen to the radio station in hopes of winning day passes to the waterpark.
In May, it was announced that Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin' Resort would be closed for the remainder of the summer, but there wasn't much clarification as to why. All we got was a quick Facebook Status stating they would be closed for the 2025 season...

BLUE BAYOU WATERPARK UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
It was announced on Tuesday that Blue Bayou, the waterpark, will now be managed by a new company and will be under new ownership moving forward.
In a report from WAFB out of Baton Rouge, the new management group will be Leisure, Sports and Recreation, LLC. They are a Louisiana-based company that also operates Gulf Islands Waterpark in Gulfport, Mississippi.
GOOD NEWS! THE WATERPARK WILL BE OPENING BACK UP!
There is great news to report! According to the report from WAFB, Leisure Sports' new management says the waterpark will reopen next season! The park will still be located at Perkins Road East near I-10, but it will be under new management and a new brand.
