Four Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office Employees have tested positive for COVID-19 and one had to be hospitalized.

Chief Deputy Chris Ivey confirmed to the American Press that he and three other employees are currently quarantined. Ivy has been self-quarantining for the past two weeks and expects to return to work this week. Most of the employees affected by the coronavirus worked in the 911 building or the admin building. At the date of this story, no inmates at the Jeff Davis jail have contracted COVID-19.

Ivey said they are currently monitoring the situation and making sure proper protocol is followed to protect the remaining employees and prisoners. Since March, the JDSO has escalated their sanitation and cleaning efforts in their jail and office buildings per the CDC and Louisiana Department of Health guidelines.

Visitors are asked to wear a mask when entering their facilities where public access is allowed.
