BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The governing body of Louisiana high school sports says DeQuincy High School must forfeit football, basketball and baseball games because of academic violations.

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association says DeQuincy self-reported that athletes competed on the football, basketball, baseball, and outdoor track and field teams without having met scholastic requirements.

The LHSAA says coaches of those teams must now take LHSAA courses and that DeQuincy's football, basketball and baseball teams must forfeit games in which ineligible athletes competed. That includes three football games, 11 basketball games and eight baseball games.

The school also has been fined $50 per ineligible student per team, for a total of $650.
