COVID-19 Basketball Game Protocols Announced By LSU
The LSU Athletic Department, with help from state health officials and the SEC, have announced their COVID-19 game protocols for the upcoming basketball season.
The upcoming 2020-2021 men’s and women’s basketball season will look quite different this year at the PMAC. After what we've seen with other college sports around the country, this comes as no surprise.
Home games at the Maravich Center will be played with a 25% fan capacity. Fans must stay twelve feet away from the playing court at all times and never walk onto the court.
Season ticket holders were given first crack to claim game tickets last week. The rest of the tickets that they didn't choose to redeem will be sold as single game tickets in a limited number.
Fans must social distance (stand six feet apart) at the gates, concession stands, merch tables, and restrooms. This will be strictly enforced, as LSU staff will be monitoring all areas in the arena.
Also, alcohol will not be sold in the arena or in the premium access areas. The concession stands will only take cashless payment options with a simplified menu along with pre-packaged food to limit contact with food.
