Halloween is only a couple weeks away, and folks all over Southwest Louisiana are getting geared up for the popular holiday. The days of kids and parents going from house to house trick or treating is fading away and being substituted with local church functions and city festivals.
The city of Lake Charles has announced that they will be holding their Halloween Harvest Festival on Monday, October 31st. The Harvest Festival will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Matt Young with the City of Lake Charles said:
This free community event will feature a variety of games, train rides, face painting, balloons and fun. A “Tiny TOTS World” ages 2 – 5 years will be held in the Exhibition Hall.
A costume contest is planned, and prizes will be awarded for the Most Creative, Best Homemade Costume and Best Store Bought Costume. Costumes are not required. Concessions will be on-site.
The City of Lake Charles Harvest Festival will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center, and will be run from 5:00pm to 8:00.
