Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso has released the initial crime report on the shooting death of Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center Pastor Ronald Harris.  The report reveals that the suspect, Woodrow Karey, told deputies at the time of his confession that he killed Harris because "he raped my wife."

Mancuso released the crime report to national and local media outlets this afternoon.

The last page of the report describes that Karey was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher describing his location when police arrived on the scene. The cuffed him without incident and asked what happened -- to which Karey responded, "He raped my wife."  When deputies asked Karey if he had shot someone that night, he replied that he had. Karey then led deputies to where he had disposed of his weapons in the woods behind the church.

Harris was likely dead before first responders could get to him.  In the days after his murder, it was revealed that Karey's wife had filed a rape complaint.
