Ice Cream lovers all over the state of Louisiana will be happy to hear this news.  Blue Bell Ice Cream will make its triumphant return to Louisiana and be back on shelves in late December 2015. Blue Bell halted production in April of this year after its products were linked to 10 listeria illnesses in four states which also resulted in three deaths in Kansas.

WWL out of New Orleans spoke to the vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell which said:

“We are excited to announce phase four and look forward to expanding our distribution area,” said Ricky Dickson, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell. “Our customers have shown great patience over the past several months and we cannot thank them enough.”

Blue Bell announced back in August a five part plan to slowly bring their prioducts back into the states where it was originally sold.  Their 'phase four' of their reopening process included Louisiana and now the company is ready to begin that phase of production,

Blue Bell says that they will start deliveries to Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi, starting on December 21st, 2015.

Don't start licking your lips yet Louisianians because there will only be five flavors to start. Starting on December 21st you will be able to pick up Homemade Vanilla, Cookies 'n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Buttered Pecan, and the Great Divide, which is half chocolate and half vanilla.

So mark your calendar for December 21st because Blue Bell is coming back to the bayou state.
