KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

UPDATE: Two were hospitalized after last night's crash. The driver of the 18-wheeler, Brandon Ziomber, 21, of Chicago, Illinois is being charged with DWI. He and an unnamed passenger were taken to a local hospital.

No structural damage to the bridge appears to have been caused by the crash. The guard rail busted out in the crash will be temporarily mended until contractors can do permanent repairs starting next week. No repair details were released, but one can probably guess that lane closures will be involved in the eastbound lanes.

ORIGINAL:  State Police have reported that an 18-wheeler fell off of the eastbound side of the Calcasieu River Bridge last night around 10:45 p.m.
