Wreck Near Highway 171 in Lake Charles Closes One I-10 Westbound Lane For Six Hours

An overturned tanker caused a six hour lane closure (one of the Westbound lanes on I-10.) The first alert went out at 2:37 p.m. on Thursday.

The first alert said to avoid I-10 Westbound near 171 for the next two hours. I was minutes away when the alert came in and took this picture. Then another alert came in at 4:01 p.m. and said the outside lane would be closed for the next six hours. No word on any fatalities of injuries. Traffic will be slow in the area and motorist are urged to use cation and if possible divert to I-210.
