Woman Shoots Two at Shopping Center

Details are still sketchy at this hour, but there have been reports that a woman opened fire at noon today at the Ross Dress for Less at the Prien Lake Plaza Shopping Center in Lake Charles.

The suspect has been arrested and one victim has been transported to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to police, but no names or details on injuries have been released yet.

According to KPLC-TV 7:

One person was arrested in connection with the shooting. That arrest was reportedly made at the Whitney Bank location on Ryan Street.

Deputy Chief (Mark) Kraus adds it is believed that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute.

One witness in the store did tell us, "we heard some lady say 'oh [expletive]', and it sounded like a balloon popped."
