Good news, everyone! Calcasieu Parish is one of the wealthiest parishes in the state of Louisiana. Sure, we're in the bottom spot, but at least we made the top ten!

With a per capita income of $23,591, Calcasieu Parish still falls short of the national average of $27,334. Even the wealthiest parish in the state, St. Tammany, is the only parish that exceeds the national average, and even then just barely passes it with a per capita income of $29,282. (Which makes St. Tammany the 310th wealthiest county/parish in the nation. Calcasieu, on the other hand, is in the 1196th spot.)

This list is based on per capita income, using data from the 2010 US Census Data and the 2006-2010 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates.
