South Louisiana has been going through a lot lately with record setting floods that have caused the loss of people's property and homes. Being from Louisiana, it hurts my heart to see all this devastation.

Even though we get kicked down sometimes, folks from Louisiana are always ready to step up and band together to help our neighbors out. That is exactly what Grammy-award winner Wayne Toups and some of his musician friends have done.

Wayne Toups stepped up, called his buddies and got the ball rolling. Wayne, along with one half of the legendary country music duo Brooks and Dunn, Kix Brooks, and other Louisiana based artists will donate their time and perform  at the Acadiana Strong benefit concert to help victims of the recent floods.

It will be on Sunday, September 4th, at the Evangeline Downs Event Center in Opelousas. All proceeds - 100% - will go to the "Community Foundation of Acadiana" to help out the local flood victims in the community.

Here is the lineup:

2:00pm-3:00pm – Dustin Sonnier
3:30pm-4:30pm – Atchafalaya
5:00pm-6:00pm – Wayne Toups & Jamey Bearb
6:30pm-7:30pm – Louisiana’s Leroux
8:00pm-until – Wayne Toups with special guest Kix Brooks

At the door, you just pay a $10 donation. Plus, they will have an awesome auction with autographed memorabilia.

So let's band together and support a great cause.
