The Arts and Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and Fusion Five, the LakeArea’s premiere young professional’s organization, are coming together again to present the second installation of the Unredeeming Movie Night at CentralSchool. Each movie night screens a cult classic movie that focuses on the unredeeming and frivolous humor in us all. Pull out the polyester because on Friday, July 22nd, the 2004 hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy will be featured at 7 p.m. in the Central School theater. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Will Ferrell stars as Ron Burgundy, the top-rated anchorman in San Diegoduring the 1970s. When feminism marches into the newsroom in the form of an ambitious newswoman, Veronica Corningstone, played by Christina Applegate, Ron tries his hardest to keep her down by giving her “female interest” stories such as cat fashion shows and cooking. But when Veronica refuses to settle for being eye candy and steps behind the news desk, it means war for two perfectly coiffed anchor-persons.

Parental discretion is advised, so call up the babysitter and enjoy an evening with the Arts Council and Fusion Five. Admission is a $5 donation, and concessions and wine will be sold. Central School is located at 809 Kirby Street in Lake Charles. Call the Arts Council at (337) 439-2787.
