Lake Charles-- McNeese women's basketball program will host its third annual "Lyrics and Layups" Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the new Luna Live (710 Ryan Street) in downtown Lake Charles. Tickets are available at the women's basketball office and the McNeese Athletics Ticket office. Tickets will also be sold at the door the night of the event. The event is sponsored by Jeff Davis Bank and will benefit the Cowgirl basketball summer school campaign.

"We are looking forward to a very special night," said head Coach Brooks Donald Williams. "The response has been incredible. The entertainment, food (catered by Luna), auction items and environment will be second to none. What a great time to spend in celebration of the exciting, historical season as well as raising funds for our future. You won't want to miss this!"

The featured auction items include a Texas A&M National Championship autographed basketball, McNeese women's basketball Championship autographed basketball, jersey, championship ring, and a trip for two with the Cowgirls to National Champion Texas A&M and national powerhouse, Baylor. The auction will also include golf, fishing and boating outings, an array of delicacies and selected artwork, which includes the award winning Mississippi artist, Kit Fields.

On stage, country music songwriter/producer Randy Boudreaux will once again be the main attraction. Boudreaux wrote number one hits "Alibis" by Tracey Lawrence and "Brokenheartsville" by Joe Nichols. Joining Boudreaux on stage will be the Crystal Creek Band, and singer/songwriters Valerie Andrus and Jordan Boudreaux.

"Lyrics and Layups" is supported and sponsored by the Center for Orthopedics and Dr. John W. Noble, Jr., Whitney Bank, Surgicare of Lake Charles, Dr. Thomas Leger (Leger Family Dentistry), Tarver Ford, Lake Charles Toyota, The Therapy Center, Pumpelly Tire and Jeff Davis Bank.

Reserved seating is still available. Seating for a table of eight is $1,000, table of four is $500 and a table for two is $250. All tables are on a first come first serve basis. For further inquiries, contact the women's basketball office at (337) 475-5473.
