Thousands Enjoy Light Up the Lake Christmas Celebration
Anyone who was at the Lake Charles Civic Center yesterday and last night will agree that this was the best crown ever for the annual Christmas festivities.
The festival featured everything you need to draw a great crowd and the weather was perfect. The afternoon started with the Christmas Street Parade and the moved inside the Civic Center for Santa's Workshop. The Lake Charles Community Band performed until it was time to turn on the Christmas lights. Then "my wife in her kerchief and me in my cap" did some street dancing to a live band by the seawall. I gotta give props to the City of Lake Charles. They did a great job turning the seawall into something special and in planning this day of family fun. The boat parade had the seawall packed. Where else do you buy a snow cone to enjoy while watching a Christmas Boat parade? The crowd was very diversified and all had a great time together. We all made new friends and had a blast. I'm hoping other Lake Charles festivals learn from this one. The fireworks were a great way to wrap up a fantastic night. Enjoy the pictures from the boat parade.
