It started with a two vehicle accident in the inside lane on I-10 westbound just west of Welch. It ended when another vehicle became involved and hit the driver (of one of the first vehicles.) The Lafayette man was pronounced dead on the scene.

A sixty year old man was struck while walking in the outside lane of I-10. A State Police Troop D investigation determined why the man was walking away fro another crash when he was struck.
Yesterday I made a trip fro Beaumont to Lake Charles and saw this 18 Wheeler in the ditch. It was upside down and in a deep ditch about three quarter miles West of the Texas state line. Getting it out of that ditch had the interstate closed (westbound) for eight hours today..
If you know anyone headed over from Lafayette or further west ... you might want to warn them. They may be sitting on I-10 for a long time.
