The Louisiana State Police has advised us that both East and West bound lanes of Interstate I-10 are shut down from Exit 44 to Exit 80. Here are the details.

Last Friday April 25th, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office conducted a DWI checkpoint in the 4500 block of Highway 27 South in Carlyss. The CPSO has released the results of the checkpoint.

The Louisiana State Police were called out to a two vehicle accident yesterday on the Calcasieu River Bridge heading into Moss Bluff where one person was killed and three others were injured. LSP reports that one of the people involved in the crash, a thirteen year old girl had serious injuries.

Louisiana Department of Transportation Officials announced that the westbound lanes of the I-10 bridge will be closed tonight April 3rd, 2012 from 9 P.M. to 5 A.M. tomorrow morning, and the eastbound lanes will be closed tomorrow night April 4th, 2012 from 9 P.M. to 5 A.M. Thursday morning.

Here is a traffic update for you that use the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge for your commutes. The  Lake Charles Police Department is reporting that the bridge will be closed the next two nights and that traffic will be directed to detour at I-210.  Here is the times and dates the bridge will be closed.

In an effort to help with the flow of traffic on I-10 especially around the I-10 bridge, 18 wheelers were suppose to take the I-210 route per law enforcement. Well, standing outside of the radio station today I saw some 18 wheelers that did not listen to the warning and were rewarded with a ticket from the Louisiana State Police.
