So we had "Bounty Gate", our coach and captain of our defense was suspended for a year and we all held our breath till Drew Brees signed his contract.  That was just in the first part of this year.  With all that said, we now look forward to the 2012 season and hope that the Saints prove all the naysayers wrong. The NFL has contacted New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma and has offered to reduce his suspension from one year to just eight games. There is only one condition, Vilma would have to drop his civil lawsuit against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Roger Goodell and the NFL have handed down their decision.  They have rejected the appeals of four current and former New Orleans Saints players suspended in connection with the league's bounty investigation of the Saints. This is where it is going to get real.  The players said they intend to fight Goodell and the NFL's ruling in Federal Court.
