McNeese Associate Athletic Director Ryan Ivey Leaves For Texas A&M-Commerce A.D. Job

Ryan Ivey, who has been with McNeese State University since 2007, is leaving the University to become the Athletic Director at Texas A&M-Commerce.

Texas A&M-Commerce President Dr. Dan Jones made the official announcement today that the University had hired Ryan Ivey as the university’s Director of Athletics.

Honey Badger’s Father — Tyrann Won’t Play Football This Season

So here is the Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu's journey in a nutshell from the past two weeks.  Tyrann released from LSU on Friday August 10th then talks with the McNeese Cowboys that Friday night.  The national media then starts speculating that Tyrann will go back to LSU.

Then last Friday August 17th, it was announced that Tyrann Mathieu had entered rehab in Houston, Texas.  Now a report is out that the Honey Badger will NOT play football at all this season.

Tyrann Mathieu In Rehab — Honey Badger Will Not Play Football This Year

All week, we have all have been waiting on some form of an announcement to see where the "Honey Badger" will go play football this season after being dismissed from the LSU football team last Friday.

Well the wait is over.  WVUE-TV in New Orleans is reporting that Tyrann Mathieu entered a rehab center on Monday in Houston and will not play football this season.

UPDATE 2:21 p.m.: LSU's sports information director is now claiming that no meeting between Les Miles and Tyrann Mathieu never took place!  Michael Bonnette, on his Twitter feed, is now stating that Les Miles himself denies any meeting ever took place.  Badger Gate is starting to get as muddy as the Mississippi.

Update On Tyrann Mathieu Announcement

There have been so many reports and speculations on where former LSU player Tyrann Mathieu will go after being dismissed from the LSU Football team this past Friday.

Now it seems we will finally find out where the Honey Badger will go.  Nola.com is reporting that Mathieu will make an announcement this Wednesday,  August 15th on where he intends to transfer.

UPDATE:

Tuesday, August 14th 7:22 p.m.

ESPN reporting that Tryann Mathieu will not make a decision about where he's transferring to tomorrow.  Stayed tuned because this story changes by the hour.

Is Tyrann Mathieu Considering Sitting Out A Year To Return To LSU Next Season?

After reports that Tyrann Mathieu visited the McNeese football program on Friday night to possibly join the team, we are now getting reports that the Honey Badger is considering sitting out a year.

ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that Mathieu is now expressing interest in sitting out the season, staying in school at LSU and trying to rejoin the team next season if it can be worked out with the school.

The McNeese Cowboys football team held their annual media and fan day yesterday at Cowboys stadium.  It allowed fans to come out and meet the players and coaches.  It was also a great opportunity for fans to get autographs and pictures.
