It's finally here baseball fans. The start of the 2016 college baseball season and for the LSU Tigers and the McNeese Cowboys it's a fresh start to improve on last year's successes.

It's time for college baseball Tiger fans! The LSU baseball team is getting ready to kick of their 2016 this Friday night at home in Baton Rouge.

Let's talk college baseball folks. The season doesn't start until mid February but all the preseason polls are coming out and the LSU Tigers baseball team are landing in the top 12 or higher so far in every poll.

The LSU Tigers baseball team have been ranked in the top 10 in two preseason polls.

LSU Baseall Coach Paul Mainieri will get the experience of a lifetime Friday morning when he flies with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in an F-16 fighter jet at Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles, La.

The Tigers will now get a rematch with TCU tonight and will be looking to redeem themselves from an ugly 10-3 loss to TCU in the opening round of the college world series.

The LSU Tigers baseball team who are 53-10 on the season will face TCU who are 49-13 on the year in the first round of the College World Series today at 2:00 p.m. Central time

So big things are happening for the LSU Tigers baseball team in the last few days. First the Tigers beat the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana Lafayette Sunday to advance to the College World Series. Then Monday night, the Tigers found out that they will face the TCU Horned Frogs in the first round in Omaha. While that was going on, several players were also watching the Major League Baseball draft which started Monday at 7pm. A total of seven LSU Tiger Baseball players have been selected so far in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.

Last night Texas A&M and TCU faced off to determine the which team would fill the final spot in the College World Series bracket in Omaha. After a marathon game which went 16 innings the TCU Horned Frogs beat the Aggies 5-4 to advance. With the Win, the LSU Tigers baseball team now know that they will face TCU in the first round of the College World Series.

If you are a big LSU sports fan and have ever listen to a football, basketball or baseball game over the radio, then you are familiar with the voice of the LSU Tigers Jim Hawthorne. Well last night, Jim called his final game at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Well it is official. The LSU Tigers are headed back to Omaha and will be one of the eight teams in the College World Series. The Tigers beat the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette tonight 6-3 to advance to Omaha.

Four lifelong friends and teammates prior to this season are now split in half, competing against one another in the Baton Rouge Super Regional.
