The LSU baseball team is having a great season so far and now awards are coming their way as well.  LSU shortstop Alex Bregman has been named the National Freshman Player of the Year by the Collegiate Baseball magazine.

The LSU Tigers baseball team now know when they will take on Oklahoma in the Baton Rouge Super Regional on Friday night. What time is game one and will it be televised? Here are the details.

The LSU Tigers baseball team went 3-0 this weekend in the Baton Rouge Regional ending it with a 5-1 win of the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette last night in Alex Box Stadium. With the win, LSU now advances to the Super Regional which will start either Friday or Saturday.  Here are the details.

The LSU Tigers who finished the regular season with an impressive 52-9 record, won the SEC Western Division and then won the SEC title outright by beating the then #1 team in the country Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament are now getting there accolades. The Tigers are now currently ranked No.1 in four of the five major polls.

The LSU Tigers are the 2013 SEC Champions!  The Tigers beat Vanderbilt in extra innings to take the title.  The Tigers beat Vanderbilt, 5-4, in 11 innings to win their 10th Southeastern Conference Tournament title in school history. Now the seeding and pairings have been released and LSU now knows who they will play.

The LSU Tigers are the 2013 SEC Champions!  It took the Tigers extra innings yesterday before they came out on top beating Vanderbilt, the #1 team in the country and the #1 seed in the SEC tournament The Tigers beat Vanderbilt, 5-4, in 11 innings Sunday to win their 10th Southeastern Conference Tournament title in school history.

The LSU Tigers baseball team begin their quest to win the Southeastern Conference (SEC) when they start play in the the SEC tournament starting today at noon. The Tigers finished the regular season with an impressive 48-8 win/loss record and are the #2 seed in the tournament.  They are set to face the Alabama Crimson Tide today.

The LSU Tigers won the SEC Western division over the weekend and for their efforts they have moved up in the Baseball America Top 25 poll.

The #3 ranked LSU Tigers baseball team took two out of three games from Texas A&M over the weekend.  The Tigers won Saturday 2-1 in eight innings which secured them their second straight SEC West title.

The LSU Tigers beat McNeese State last Tuesday 7-3 and then swept the weekend series against the then ranked #19 Florida Gators but it still wasn't good enough to move them up in this weeks polls.

Last night, I had the pleasure of going to and doing color commentary on the air on Cajun Radio for the LSU Tigers and McNeese Cowboys baseball game at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. It was a really great experience and what made it better was it was my two favorite teams facing off with one another.  Check out some of the pictures I took and a run down of the game.

The McNeese Cowboys will travel down I-10 today and will take on the #3 ranked LSU Tigers baseball team tonight in Baton Rouge.
