The City of Sulphur, the City of Lake Charles and KPLC-TV are teaming up with former New Orleans Saint Mike McKenzie's charity foundation to collect relief items for the victims of Hurricane Isaac -- and you can help.

The McNeese Cowboys won their first game on the road against a FBS or 1-A school, Middle Tennessee, last Thursday 27-21.  That win got the McNeese Cowboys into the Top 25 polls this week.

Reports are coming in that Tyrann Mathieu aka "The Honey Badger" will enroll at LSU tomorrow. Tyrone Mathieu announced in late August that Tyrann would not play football this season and was working on his issues with former NBA player John Lucas.  Seems now the issues maybe resolved and Tyrann is ready to go back to school.

After a rough week in the Baton Rouge area due to Hurricane Isaac, the LSU Tigers are geared up and ready for their season and home opener against North Texas tonight. If you are going to the game like me, be aware of some parking lot closures and traffic alerts heading to the game.

The New Orleans Saints will take on the Tennessee Titans tonight in Nashville which will be televised.

With all eyes on Isaac, the LSU football team are still preparing for their game against North Texas this Saturday night at Tigers Stadium. LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva issued a statement today regarding the game and tropical storm Isaac.  For now, the Tigers plan on playing the game but of course that could change.

UPDATE 7 p.m., 8/27 -- 26.7 N, 86.5 W, 70 mph, 981 mb: Isaac still remains too ragged to become strong enough to be a hurricane, but it is expected to get stronger overnight.  Officials are becoming more concerned about the storm surge that will likely push ashore near the Louisiana/Mississippi border, and are also concerned that Isaac will come ashore near New Orleans and simply sit there dumping

The New Orleans Saints football team is watching Tropical Storm Isaac closely.  The Saints are scheduled to play the Tennessee Titans Thursday night in their final preseason game of the year in Nashville. Interim head coach Joe Vitt said yesterday that the team was watching the storm and would make a decision soon on when to leave New Orleans for Nashville.

As of the 7:00 a.m. update, Southwest Louisiana is now under a Tropical storm watch. The cone of uncertainty has shifted further westward which now looks like it includes all of  Louisiana. Update: 7:00 a.m. advisory:  The 7 a.m has just come out and nothing has really changed as far as projected path and wind speeds.  Tropical Storm Isaac is currently sporting 65 mph winds with gusts up to 75 mph
