Last Friday April 25th, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office conducted a DWI checkpoint in the 4500 block of Highway 27 South in Carlyss.

The CPSO has released the results of the checkpoint.

On Friday, April 27, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint at the 4500 block of Highway 27 South in Carlyss to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.

Eight-hundred and sixty-two (862) vehicles were checked; eight (8) field sobriety tests were administered; seven (7) citations were issued; and the following person was arrested for DWI:

Chad J. Moore, 40, 127 Andrew Young Road, Sulphur

The following citations were issued:

·         two (2) for no seatbelt

·         three (3) for no child restraint

·          two (2) for expired motor vehicle inspection

Participating in this checkpoint were the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office; Louisiana State Police-Troop D; Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office; and Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
