According to a CPSO press release the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will host the Annual Senior Citizen’s Fishing Derby on Friday, September 27 from 7:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the CPSO Farm Pond behind the Calcasieu Correctional Center at 5400 E. Broad Street in Lake Charles.

Participants will have to bring their own tackle but help will be available for baiting hooks and removing fish from hooks. The CPSO is even providing bait shrimp! They only ask that seniors fish with only one line at a time.

The CPSO is even providing refreshments and the entire even is free to all parish senior citizens.
