Seatbelt and DWI Checkpoint Results

Westlake, La. - On Saturday, May 27, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) conducted a seatbelt and DWI checkpoint in the 2900 block of Westwood Road in Westlake. The checkpoint was aimed at vehicle occupants not wearing a seat belt, and those driving under the influence of "alcohol and/or narcotics."

According to a CPSO press release,

Eight hundred seventy (870) vehicles were checked; twelve (12) field sobriety tests were administered; two (2) citations were issued for no seatbelt; and two (2) citations were issued for driving under suspension.
