New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham has been in negotiations with the Saints on a new contract and this morning the star tight end took to his twitter account to announce that a deal has been done.

Graham was looking for a big payday when he filed a grievance with the NFL, asking to be declared a receiver instead of a tight end for franchise-tag purposes. But his request was ultimately rejected by arbitrator Stephen Burbank earlier this month.

According to ESPN, Graham signed a four year deal worth $40 million dollars with $21 million being guaranteed.  The Saints have also confirmed that a deal has been struck but did not release financial terms.

The Saints and Graham took it right down to the last minute.  Both sides had until today at 3:00 p.m. for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term contracts.
