A milestone was hit last night at Alex Box Stadium as Head Coach Paul Mainieri won his 200th game as the Head Coach of the LSU Tigers Baseball team.

BATON ROUGE -- LSU center fielder Mikie Mahtook delivered three RBI, and third baseman Tyler Hanover and designated hitter Trey Watkins each collected three hits to lead the Tigers past Nicholls State, 12-3, Tuesday night in Alex Box Stadium.

With the victory, LSU (25-17) gave Paul Mainieri his 200th victory of his LSU tenure as the Tigers' head coach improved to 200-101-2 in five seasons at the helm. The Colonels dropped their second game to the Tigers this season and fell to 20-21 overall.

LSU will return to Southeastern Conference play Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CDT when the Tigers welcome Kentucky to Alex Box Stadium. In addition, Thursday's game will be televised by ESPNU

Now the Tigers need to run the table in SEC play so that they can make a push toward the SEC Tournament and a possible birth into the NCAA Tournament.
