The New Orleans Saints finished the 2015 season with two straight wins and winning three of their last four games. The Saints finished the season at 7-9 for the second straight year which gave them the 12th pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

A slow start in 2015 with the Saints losing four of their first five games of the year and then a mid season slump losing four straight basically doomed the Saints for the year.

Now their is talk like "Is Drew Brees coming back" and "Will head coach Sean Payton be back".  Well reports say Payton is suppose to meet with the General Manager Mickey Loomis and other Saints brass today.  We may find out soon on the future of the head coach.

As far as Drew Brees is concerned, it is going to all come down to money.  Drew is due his $20 million dollar salary.  Plus it would be hard to let Brees go because in my opinion he is the heart of the team.

Plus there is no disputing that he still has it.  Drew Brees just ended the 2015 season as the NFL passing leader for the sixth time in his career. Drew threw for 4,870 yards, putting him ahead of Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, Carson Palmer and Matt Ryan.  What is sad is most of those quarterbacks listed above are in the playoffs now.

With a 7-9 record, the Saints secured the 12th pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.  Your draft position is determined by the record in which you finish the previous season.  The 2016 NFL Draft will be April 28th thru 30th, 2016.

The Tennessee Titans will get the first pick in the draft while the New England Patriots won't even get a pick in the first round of this years NFL draft.  The Patriots first-round pick in the 2016 draft was taken from them by the NFL for the team's role in the deflated footballs scandal.

So will we see Drew Brees in a Saints uniform next year and will coach Sean Payton be the man on the sidelines when the 2016 season starts?  Stay tuned.
