This just might be the McNeese Cowboys football team's year.  The pokes came from behind last Saturday scoring 21 points to beat Central Arkansas and take sole ownership of first place in the Souhtland Conference (SLC) standings.

The Cowboys are 6-0 on the year and 5-0 in the Southland conference standings.  The blue and gold also moved up in the polls released on Monday. McNeese moved up three spots to Number 12 in this week's STATS FCS Top 25 poll but stayed at Number 9 in the FCS Coaches' Poll.

Now this week it's homecoming for the Cowboys.  McNeese will take on Northwestern State this Saturday at Cowboys stadium.  Northwestern are 1-5 on the season and 1-3 in SLC play. They just won their first game of the year last Saturday beating Lamar 48-35.

The game will be televised on Cox Sports Television  or better known as (CST).  Kickoff for the game will at 6:07 p.m. local time.  Since it is homecoming for the Cowboys, the halftime will be 25 minutes instead of the normal 20.
