The McNeese Cowboys Football team are now 3-1 and 1-0 in Southland Conference play on the season after beating Nicholls 45-3 last Saturday night in Cowboys Stadium.

The win is the third straight for the Pokes.  However the Cowboys did not advance in the national polls for their efforts.   For the second straight week the Cowboys are ranked # 4 in the FCS Coaches poll and #5 in the Sports Network top 25.

The Cowboys will now hit the road for the first time since their trip to Nebraska on September 6th and take on Southland Conference foe Sam Houston State who are 2-3 on the season but 1-0 in SLC play.  The game has a kickoff time set for 3:00 p.m. and the game will be televised the Southland TV Network.  For you folks in the Lake Charles area that have Suddenlink cable, it is on the CW which is Channel 7.

We also spoke with Sports information Director Matt Bonnette who said they have tickets available for this game for only $15.  So for all the fans planning on making the 2 1/2 hour drive to Huntsville, you can get your tickets at the Jack Doland Field house but hurry, they are going real fast!
