Are you ready for some Football????  Well the McNeese Cowboys Football team will hold its annual Spring game Saturday at Cowboys Stadium at 1pm.

The offense held the upper hand during McNeese State's second scrimmage of spring football on Saturday.

The offense, led by quarterbacks Cody Stroud and Riley Dodge and tailback Andre Anderson, score 11 touchdowns during the morning workout.

Stroud completed 13 of 17 passes for 169 yards and three tds while Dodge completed seven of 12 for 108 yards and two scores and Anderson rushed for 87 yards including a 62 yard touchdown jaunt on the workout's second play.

The Cowboys' three tailbacks – Anderson, Champlain Babin and Javaris Murray – accounted for 159 yards on 18 carries for an 8.8 average.

Murray also caught four passes for 41 yards and scored tds on runs of seven and two yards.

All of the other touchdowns came on passes.

Stround connected on td tosses of 19 yards to Wes Briscoe, one yard to Harold Turnage and 31 yards to Diontae Spencer.

Dodge's scoring shots were three yards to Joe Jackson and 25 yards to Josh Jordan.

Two other quarterbacks – Lucas DeVilliers and Trent Whitley – also came up with scoring tosses. DeVilliers hit on a 30 yard score to DeJean Mitchell and Whitley on a 50 yard toss to Jereon McGilvery and a three yard shot to Trent Hines.

Murray led the receivers with four catches while McGilvery and Ernest Celestie both had three catches and Spencer, Briscoe, Shelby Hemingway, Damion Dixon and Turnage had two each.

Safety Ford Smesny and end Desmund Lighten were the defensive leaders. Smesny had the workout's only pass interception and a tackle for a loss while Lighten had two quarterback sacks.

Josh Lewis booted a 38 yard field goal and was eight of 11 on PATs.

The Cowboys will complete their spring workout with their annual spring game on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. in Cowboy Stadium.
