The Pokes jumped out to a 17-0 lead over Abilene Christian in the first quarter before a big homecoming crowd. The game seemed like a run away for the Cowboys with Daniel Sams throwing for three touchdowns and running for over 100 yards again. The reason Abilene Christian was able to tighten the game towards the end was points on Cowboy turnovers as the Pokes hold on to a 31-20 victory. Southland Conference action over the weekend left Southeastern as the only undefeated school in conference play. The Cowboys will travel to Southeastern on November 15th.

The LSU Tigers manhandled Kentucky last night. The Tigers set the pace right off the bat with Terrence MAgee's 49 yard kick off return that set up a touchdown from the one yard line. Then Tre'Davious White returned a punt for 67 yards as LSU special teams played a big part in the Tigers 17-0 first quarter lead. At the half the Tigers lead 27-3 and never looked back on the way to a 41-3 win over Kentucky. Next week #3 ranked Ole Miss comes into Death Valley.
