Currently tied with UT San Antonio and Lamar in sixth place in the league standings with a 14-16 record, the Cowboys will have to win at least one of these games and possibly two to get into the tournament.

UT Arlington is only one game out of sixth place at 13-17 while two games behind at 12-18 are Central Arkansas and Nicholls.

Texas State, which will host the conference post season tournament in two weeks, has won the regular season title.  The Bobcats are now 23-7 in the league and close out the season by playing at UT Arlington this week.

Stephen F. Austin remains in second place with an 18-12 record while Southeastern Louisiana and Sam  Houston State are both 17-13, A&M-Corpus is 16-14 and Northwestern State is 10-20.

Other series this week will have Lamar at Stephen F. Austin, Southeastern Louisiana at Northwestern State, TA&M-Corpus at Sam  Houston State and Central Arkansas at UTSA.

Depending on the outcome of this week's games, the Cowboys could go in as high as fifth or as low as eighth in the seeding.

McNeese head coach Terry Burrows said that he would impress upon his team the need to win each game as it comes up.

The Cowboys are coming off a series win over UT San Antonio while Nicholls dropped three straight to Texas State.
