McNeese Associate Athletic Director Ryan Ivey Leaves For Texas A&M-Commerce A.D. Job
Ryan Ivey, who has been with McNeese State University since 2007, is leaving the University to become the Athletic Director at Texas A&M-Commerce.
Texas A&M-Commerce President Dr. Dan Jones made the official announcement today that the University had hired Ryan Ivey as the university’s Director of Athletics.
Ryan Ivey became the Associate Athletic Director at McNeese in August of 2010 and was in that position until today's announcement.
Ryan Ivey will take over the job overseeing A&M-Commerce’s 11 intercollegiate athletic programs on Monday, January 14, 2013.
Ivey, a native of Mayfield, Kentucky, was a four-year letterwinner at Memphis as a punter and holder on the Tiger football team, seeing action in both the 2003 New Orleans Bowl and the 2004 GMAC Bowl. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management in December 2004, followed by his master’s degree in sport and leisure commerce in August 2010. He met his wife, Kelley, while attending the University of Memphis and has two sons, Jett and Ace.
Ivey was selected from more 50 applicants in the nationwide search by a committee that included representation from athletics, the university, alumni and the community.
I have had the pleasure of working with Ryan over the past few years since Cajun Radio is the home of McNeese Basketball and Baseball. We want to congratulate Ryan Ivey and wish him all the best!
